Mentorship Work Group

*The Mentoring Families working group is excited to announce open enrollment for the 2025-2026 Mentoring Families!!*

The NASPAG Anti-racism Committee and NASPAG Research Committee began the Mentoring Families Program with hopes to connect individuals in the field of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and Adolescent Medicine.  Since its initiation in 2021, the NASPAG Mentoring Families program has continued to expand in size and recognition.

We invite members and interested individuals of all levels of training and experience to sign-up for this wonderful networking opportunity.  Members from last year are encouraged to complete this form again to continue involvement.

To sign-up, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/NWncNYzu9LU5MfNs6

The form should only take a few minutes, to join a mentoring family please sign-up by June 6, 2025.

  • NEW THIS YEAR: We are piloting the option to select a two-year family commitment.  We hope that this will allow deeper and more long-term connections.  Please select this option if interested.  Otherwise, the standard is a 12-month family that resets after ACRM each year.
  • ALSO NEW THIS YEAR: Historically, mentoring families have been open-ended and discussions have been driven by individual families.  This year there is the option to choose to join a family that is targeted to a specific topic, such as research, advocacy, career advancement etc.

More Information about the Mentoring Families Program:

  • The purpose of the program is mentorship and mentee-ism within our small community. NASPAG Mentoring Families concept is focused on making connections, multidirectional exchange of support and ideas, fostering growth and development, providing career or life advice, and encouraging research development, support and education.
  • Families are formed by the working group and contacted by June/July 2025, consist of 5-8 members and are expected to meet at least 3-4 times per year.
  • Individuals in each family come from a variety of experience levels (ranging from students, trainees to experienced attendings or professors). Members may include students, trainees, residents in addition to providers specializing in pediatric and adolescent gynecology, adolescent medicine, general gynecology or clinical research. Each family is organized to have members of various experience levels in addition to shared interests for mentorship.
  • Families may be assigned designated leaders to coordinate meet-ups, or rotate responsibility during the year.
  • At the commencement, families are encouraged to confirm their commitment to the program and identify their goals and discussion topics that meet the needs of their unique members. Families are empowered to identify and achieve their individualized goals. Every family member should have the opportunity to both learn and contribute regardless of background or level of training.
  • To continue motivation and address any concerns, the working group will reach-out for family check-ins.
  • The year will cumulate with an end-of-year survey (to continue the success of the program) and an in-person Families Reunion at the ACRM meeting.

Please be sure to confirm your ability to commit to a Mentoring Family prior to signing-up. The deadline to enroll is June 6, 2025.

Thank you from the NASPAG Mentoring Families working group and we look forward to connecting all of you!
