November Webinar: Spheres of influence: approaches to physician advocacy outside of the clinical space
Hello NASPAG Members, Friends and Colleagues!
We are excited to invite you to the second installment of our new NASPAG monthly webinar series “Spheres of influence: approaches to physician advocacy outside of the clinical space” on Wednesday Nov 13th at 8pm EDT.
Join us for an inspiring night of advocacy as we learn from three experts in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Kathryn Stambough, Dr. Julie Hakim, and Dr. Sameera Mokkarala on how to advocate for our patients outside of the clinical space. In addition to advocating for patients in their clinical practice, these physicians have found ways to incorporate advocacy outside of their roles as clinicians. This webinar is a great way to learn realistic and practical strategies to advocate for your patients.
Dr. Julie Hakim (FemTech Focus Co-Founder | Baylor College of Medicine | Texas Children's Hospital)- creating space for gynecology and women's health through device and technology development
Learn more about her influence in women's health and wellness tech, and advancing pediatric and adolescent gynecology outside of the clinic:
Dr. Kate Stambough (University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences | Arkansas Children's Hospital)- giving a voice to pediatric and adolescent gynecology patients through testimonial in court
Her work giving testimonial is not affiliated with her hospital or university, but you can take a look at who she is in her clinical role as the only full-time PAG physician in her state:
Dr. Sameera Mokkarala (Planned Parenthood of Southeast Pennsylvania)- bringing relatable clinician experiences in comprehensive family planning to our government leaders and legislators
Here's a sneak peek at some of her interviews and publications:
