Dear NASPAG Members and PAG Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the release of NASPAG's newest patient education resource, Preparing for Your Laparoscopy.

A laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses a thin surgical telescope (laparoscope) with a camera to allow a surgeon to see inside the abdomen. For many patients and families, preparing for surgery can feel overwhelming. This new handout provides clear, practical guidance on what to expect before, during, and after surgery, helping patients and caregivers feel informed, prepared, and supported throughout the experience.

This resource is another example of the outstanding work of the NASPAG Education Committee. We extend our sincere gratitude to the committee members who dedicated their time, expertise, and thoughtful collaboration to develop this high-quality patient handout. Creating educational materials that are both medically accurate and easy for patients and families to understand is no small task, and we deeply appreciate their commitment to improving patient care.

The Education Committee plays a vital role within NASPAG by assessing the educational needs of our members and patients, developing new educational resources, and disseminating these materials throughout our community. The committee is also responsible for developing NASPAG's Clinical Consensus Guidelines and Patient Handouts, while collaborating with other NASPAG committees and partner organizations to advance education in pediatric and adolescent gynecology.

The committee's current work continues to expand our educational offerings. Recent and upcoming Clinical Consensus Guidelines include:

• Adolescent Pregnancy Testing: Balancing Confidentiality, Consent, and Disclosure
• Use of Tranexamic Acid in the Treatment of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding
• Reproductive Health Management of Female Adolescent Athletes With Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S)
• Nonsexually Acquired Genital Ulcers (Vulvar Aphthous Ulcers)

Additional Clinical Consensus Guidelines currently in development include:

• Hormonal Medications and Adolescent Bone Health
• Hemostasis and Thrombosis Prevention for Pediatric and Adolescent Patients Undergoing Gynecologic Surgery
• Updates to Existing Consensus Statements on Obstructive and Non-Obstructive Müllerian Anomalies
• Sexually Transmitted Infections in Adolescents: Diagnosis and Management
• Radiology in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
